Introduction Synth pop band from Germany, founded 1991, released their latest EP in spring 2012. “Dark wave with futuristic sequences“, “sophisticated pop formation”, “dark male voice” – what seems like descriptions for contemporary future pop artists was already written in the early 90’s about Dusk to Dawn. In 2012, they are back: The German band has released new songs that convince with modern, danceable tunes, though they also embrace classical new wave song writing. Since 1992, Dusk to Dawn published a hybrid of catchy pop, dark wave and crisp electronic rock music. The latter is especially to be found within their first new single ‘Sole Survivor’, written by guitarist Andreas Kleinwächter. The already widely acclaimed track was consumed some thousand times as stream, video and download by now. With its gothic rock elements, this release marks a significant contrast to the other new titles: ‘Homecoming’ by synth pro Jörg Erren enfolds an appealing science fiction feeling with both its sounds and lyrics. ‘Exit’, by Dusk to Dawn’s singer Achim Zolke, is aesthetical, melancholic synth pop with an impulsive beat, forming, along with ‘Sole Survivor’, another potential club hit.
