Introduction | Matt is recognized internationally as an expert on the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. From 2003 to 2005 Matt studied employee-ownership, inter-firm networks, innovation and the role of labor in competitiveness while living in Bologna, the capital of Emilia-Romagna. Matt has published numerous articles and a book, Compete by Cooperating, on this innovative development model. In 2005 Matt earned his Master's in Cooperative Economics from the University of Bologna. Matt Hancock is the executive director and founder of the Center for Polytechnical Education (CPE), in Chicago. CPE develops workforce training and educational programs that prepare the next generation of skilled employees and leaders for manufacturing and other technology-rich careers. Matt is a member of the Board of Directors of the Freelancers Insurance Company, a private, social purpose business that provides quality, affordable health insurance to nearly 20,000 freelance and contingent workers in New York State. Matt received his Master's degree in Cooperative Economics from the University of Bologna. He holds a B.A. in history from Skidmore College. |
