Introduction I am pursuing my M.A. in philosophy at the Center for Thomistic Studies at the University of St. Thomas. I am a recent B.A. graduate from Belmont University. I majored in Philosophy and minored in Classics.
Interests Philosophical research interests: Metaphysics:1) In the tradition as an Aristotelian Science, especially Avicenna and Thomas Aquinas 2) The doctrine of being in Aristotle, Avicenna, and Thomas Aquinas 3) The real distinction of essence and existence in Avicenna and Thomas Aquinas. 4) The medieval problem of universals. Philosophy of Mind: 1) Medieval Aristotelian accounts of the inner senses and perception, especially Avicenna, Averroes, Albertus Magnus, and Thomas Aquinas. 2) Medieval Aristotelian accounts of Scientia. 3) Intentionality as a cognitive mode of being in the Medievals. Natural Philosophy: 1) Bundle Theory vs. Hylomorphic-Substance Theory 2) Substance Teleology and the Evolution of the Species 3)Natural Causation as grounded in substance teleology and not nomological atomism. 4) Aristotelian elemental substances and the synthesis with modern empiricological elements. General non-Academic Interests: Catholic Theology, Ecclesiastical History and Tradition, Ecclesiology, Catholic Mystics, Distributism, Poetry, and Classical Mythology.
