Introduction	Sean Tan is a 15-year-old junior attending Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. About three miles away is the small town of Kensington, where he’s grown up with his younger sister and parents. He has played lacrosse from the age of 10 and currently plays on his high school varsity team. While on the junior varsity team, Tan set a school record for most season goals and received the 2014 most valuable offensive player award. Another hobby of his includes martial arts. Inspired by the flashy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers, he started taking lessons at the age of 8. Seven years later, he holds a second-degree black belt and also has a job assisting and teaching the younger kids. At school he’s taken a writing journalism class and several media classes, all of which have sparked his interest in the field of news reporting. He enjoys shooting video and exploring the world through a lens. He has travelled to over 10 countries and hopes that working in journalism will allow him to discover new places. He looks to expand his knowledge and learn more about present-day journalism, as well as the integration of visuals and social media into his writing.
