| Introduction | Betty has had extensive training in various mediums, oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, sumi watercolor & ink, collage and experimental media.. She began her studies at the University of Akron and Studios of Jack Richard learning all about color in his thorough color lecture series and painting the portrait models, the very first model was Nancy Nierman Baker. Next was building armatures and studying sculpture with Miles Paladino. She then continued with many locally and internationally renowned artists and workshop instructors: Marc Moon, Jean Deemer, Fred Leach, Elinore Korow, Judith Carducci, Dino Massaroni Jack Mulhollen, Jack Lieberman, Tony Cross David Everson, Harriet Elson ,Jane Boyd, John Smolko Mary Alice Bruckman, Wanda Montgomery, Marilyn Phyliss, Homer Hacker, Frank Webb, Jean Grasdorf , Suzanna Spann, Arleta Pech, Don Andrews, Chen-Khee Chee, Judi Betts, Arne Westerman, M. Douglas Walton, Susan Frame, Jeanne Carbonetti, Carla O’Connor and Mary Whyte. Anatomy classes for two summers with Byrd Looker were a highlight in experience and growth. Landscapes, florals, seascapes, still life, portraits, collage and abstracts are all found in her art work. |
