Introduction My Fitness Story: I’m one of those crazy people who loves to SWEAT as well as a nutrition junkie. I’ve been working out consciously since 1986 when I was inspired by bodybuilder Rachel McLish. However, I’ve had to “start over” numerous times after injuries and pregnancies (and too much pizza and partying in my last year of college). Most recently I tore a ligament in my foot and had to wear “The Boot” for 4 months. I learned lots of Pilates, but couldn’t do cardio. When the boot came off I started over – AGAIN. It was frustrating. However, I recently finished a triathlon. At this time last year I was only allowed to walk one block (then two, then three, etc). I learned to focus on silver linings during the down time. I found a new sport – standup paddleboarding – that I absolutely love. I also read nutrition articles and new recipes while plodding along on the exercise bike. Many of the recipes even passed the kid and husband test (tough critics). I THINK enough time has passed to start eroding the ban following the Great Kale Disaster (my week-long obsession with kale)...
