| Introduction | As of April 2006, I will be obtaining an Honours Bachelor of Labour Studies degree from McMaster University. In September 2006, I have been accepted into the Masters of Arts program in Work and Society at McMaster University. I have worked for Fortinos Supermarkets for more than fourteen years. I was responsible for managing the logistical and labour issues that are associated with the implementation of an inventory control system. My education has provided me with a strong background in the economics of labour market issues, labour law, occupational health & safety, and research methods. Moreover, I have been specializing in labour related issues such as flexible work arrangements; expanding organization to the peripheral sector; and new emerging technologies within the workplace. I feel that workers will face significant challenges as jobs in the future become shorter more complex and precarious. |
