| Introduction | On April 13,2006 my easy street life took a turn I never expected. My High School sweetheart and husband of 33 years died. Jimmy was just 56. I was shocked and I was heartbroken, but "the business" of widowhood, the living on my own was an eye-opener. I had to figure out and deal with all the boring tasks I had shrewdly managed to avoid while cozily married. I began this blog, Poor Widow Me to chronicle my angst and mishaps. I wanted readers to laugh along with me that finally at 55 years old with a grown son and daughter and little granddaughter, I was forced to grow up. Finding the funny even in widowhood is natural for me. I've been a humor writer for over two decades published in the New York Times, Newsday, The Hartford Courant and I've had weekly columns in at least a dozen publications.
