| Introduction | Alan Cancelino was a complicated guy. He still is, but no one’s funding state and federal investigations over his complicated nature anymore. But then, maybe there was never a good reason to run SWATs at the guy in the first place. Not that you could ever tell a GS that his hair’s on fire without pissing the bastard off, so whose fault was that? Alan’s? So the law hated Alan as the criminal he could be at times, while the rest of us tried to make sense of why our mother in nature insisted on loving him up like her favorite son. Then there were those who just wanted to stay high forever, and those, who – in the end – did. Everyone gathering around and fighting for immediate proximity, as Alan slipped through us all like oxygen. Yes, Alan was complicated, but no one’s really that complicated. Then again, what the hell do I know? Maybe they are. |
