| Introduction | Long story short..I was in a bad marriage with a guy who did not support my running. I would run when it was not an inconvenience to him. I married the man I had always loved, my high school sweetie. And although I had been running for years, I started competing in ultras + placing high in approx 06. It made me incredibly happy. On 8/8/07 I found out that I was expecting twins + was told no more running. I had identical twin boys on 3/8/08. Just 5 months after they were born, I resumed running. Then, when they were 9 months old I entered my first race in over a year, the California International Marathon. I finished in a shocking 3:25 for only running for the past 6 months after being bed ridden. I have a passion for running that is simply unexplainable. Thanks to my Dad, I love to run!! Sadly, my Dad had bilateral knee replacements just 2 years ago + he is unable to run any longer. He lives through my achievements + I aim high to not only please myself but him as well. Running is mine. Since my husband works overseas 6 months out of the year, it is very difficult for me to put in the mileage necessary to excel in all of my races but I do it because I absolutely LOVE IT. |
