| Introduction | I began teaching orchestra in 1973 in Flagstaff, AZ. Received Masters in Music Ed from Florida State University in 1977, followed by Doctorate of Education in Music in 1991 from Arizona State University. I began viola studies with William D Magers at ASU in 1980. He taught me about Rolland's string pedagogy, too. In 1981, I took Orff Schulwerk certification for Level 1 at Northern Arizona University, with Grace C Nash. That led to Level 3 certification and advanced study in teaching improvisation to string players. |
