Introduction Although I had dabbled in art all my life, I didn't become a serious watercolor artist until 20 years ago while working a full-time job. Back then, I only got to paint on weekends, then finally retired--giving me time to pursue my passion for chasing water and paint around on paper. What a trip it has been! Mostly self-taught, I have a large collection of books by famous watercolorists, and they all say the same thing: "The only way to get better is paint, paint, paint!" So I paint almost every day. I've sold my work at a gallery, local shows, a church, and even a beauty salon. Since 2005, I've been offering my art on ebay, and belong to a wonderful online support group called Watercolors Wet n Wild, where we swap tricks of the trade, tips on painting materials, and do show-and-tell of our current work. For subjects, I love painting everything in nature--flowers, birds, trees, rocks, marshes and water in all its forms--ocean, rivers, streams, waterfalls. I am fascinated with great blue herons and have painted them in every setting imaginable. Living in flatland Tidewater VA, I am only a hop and a skip to many waterways and the wetlands surrounding them. I'm a lucky artist!
