| Introduction | I am a professor of art history with an interest in the richness and diversity of American art - and I think broadly of America as being not just the United States, but North, South and Central America as well. I was born and grew up, for the most part, in Saginaw, Michigan, but have lived for periods in both Canada (mainly in Ottawa and in Arctic Canada) and in Brazil (mainly Bahia). I am now a Detroiter - proud to live here, and I find the city endlessly interesting. |
