| Interests | Lauren Kinsler is an award-winning filmmaker, writer and editor. Her documentary, Calvin's World, won Best Of Season Award for 2005 at South by Southwest Festival and Honorable Mention at Roving Eye Documentary Festival in Rhode Island. Calvin's World has shown, amongst other festivals, at the Hot Springs International Documentary Festival, Chicago International Reel Shorts Festival and the Florida Film Festival. Kinsler earned a B.A. in Media Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004. She has also directed a music video for California indie rock band Xiu Xiu that premiered at 2006's South by Southwest Film Festival and is producing the feature film Casual Encounters. Kinsler wrote her narrative debut, the short film Widow, which will be shot in her home town of Tampa, Florida in 2007. She is also a drummer, a Sign Language Interpreter and the Editor of the online film magazine Blank Screen. She lives in Brooklyn, New York. |
