| Introduction | My name is Chris Guerrero. Born in Flushing, NY USA, my entire family is from Ecuador. I currently live in the Bronx in New York City. I work at Jackrabbit Sports: a retail store that specializes in running, biking, and triathlons. I dream to be a professional runner.After getting a great foundation of love for the sport from my high school coach, George Rio, I continued running at Hunter College. Through unfortunate facility situations and coaching disagreements, my college running career was filled with injuries, let-downs, and great friendships, all who shaped me into the runner and athlete that I am today. Shortly after my Junior XC season ended, I quit and healed a season ending IT band syndrome injury on my own. Luckily, after 6 months I was able to run a race where I was able to get noticed by Luis Tipan, a former Ecuadorian Olympian. He granted me the great honor of wanting to coach me. Ever since July 2012 we've been working together, and in a matter of months, I've been in the best shape of my life. I honestly feel like this is the road where my dreams of being on the Ecuadorian National team, and to compete on an international level have begun. |
