Introduction My formal Jewish education ended when I was 12 years old. It was at that age, that my reformed synagogue had a break off, which my grandmother was apart of. After that, I didn't see much need for any type of spirituallity until I was 28. It was then that I met an orthadox Rabbi for the first time and started the process of learning, reconnecting with my Judaism and teshuva. There were many challenges along the way, but somehow I continue on my journey. When I first started this process, there were no resources that I knew about for Ba'al Teshuvas to help us try to incorporate some of these new ideas in our life without sending the rest of our life, including relationships with friends and family, into total chaos. I had to navigate some tough minefields with the help of a few friends going through the same thing, but basically unassisted by a spirtual mentor. It's with this purpose, that I want the Ba'al Teshuva's handbook to be a resource for you to help guide you through some of life's tough questions at such a meaningful time in your life.
