| Introduction | I was born and bred in Kampala, Uganda and completed my first degree in 1972 at Makerere University in Kampala. I left Uganda when the Asians were expelled by Idi Amin. It was a traumatic event in our lives but after 34 years of reflection, I find that there are various 'dimensions' in our situation which warrant support and sympathy for the Asians but also objective analysis and criticism leading to productive debate. |
