| Introduction | Karen graduated from the Virginia School of Massage (VSM) with training in Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Myofascial in Dec. 2003. She is Reiki II attuned and has taken CranioSacral, Lymph Drainage, Heart Centered Transformation, Visceral Manipulation, Integrative Reflexology, Touch for Health, Treatment for Brain Trauma and courses for geriatric and cancer patients. Karen's particularly interested in Lymph Drainage, having taken five of the Upledger Institute (UI) Lymph Drainage Therapy (LDT) courses, and two from the Dr. Vodder School of North America's Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD). Karen is certified to bandage and do manual lymphatic drainage on lymphedema patients through the UI's LDT program. In addition to her own practice, Karen is a part time instructor for bodywork at VSM, and a contract massage therapist for Martha Jefferson Hospital, performing chair massage on both outpatients and staff. Additionally, she is a teaching assistant for UI’s LDT program. |
