About me

Location California, United States
Introduction First, in case you were wondering why I call my blog "The Big Oak Chronicles", I have an enormous Coastal Live Oak in my backyard. An arborist said it could be 200-500 years old. I imagine native Ohlone Indians once gathered acorns from this tree. I have been married for 20 years and we have one young son. I also have a 23 year old stepson. My husband and I are fortunate to be able to live in the beautiful town we grew up in. I have a BS Degree in Environmental Biology for Cal Poly San Louis Obispo and have worked for over 25 years in the environmental regulatory and education field. My passion is arts and crafts and trying many new things. Over the years I could call myself a backpacker, traveler, scuba diver, fisherwoman, horseback adventurer, reader, scrapbooker, stained glass and glass bead artist, tap dancer, belly dancer, line dancer, country swing dancer, jazz dancer, college cheer leader, flutist, cardmaker and paper crafter, seamstress, chicken keeper, outdoor dutch oven cook, jam canner, gardener... OK, you get the point. I love life and love all it has to offer.
