About me

Introduction David Franklin Lenker grew up at Lenkerbrook, the family farm, Dauphin County Pennsylvania, was a graduate of Lebanon Valley College; a WWII pilot, and accomplished watercolorist. He taught classes at the Art Association of Harrisburg where artists packed his watercolor classes as much to hear his colorful stories as to draw on his considerable painting skills. People came back to his classes again and again, even some who became well-known painters in their own right. He was famous for his stories; literal war stories about being an Army Air Forces pilot during World War II and working in counter-intelligence at the Pentagon after the war. He also told colorful tales about farming, life during the Great Depression and an African safari he went on with his wife, Nancy. David has exhibited in juried shows and has won numerous awards. He has conducted workshops in the greater Central PA area and his prints and originals hang in many galleries throughout the United States.
