| Introduction | I am a patriot above all. I believe in this country and what it stands for. I lived through the turmoil of the 1960s. I have seen a racist country turn to what I believe is a majority of citizens who have turned away from those days. How do I know this? In the 60s, the majority of white people were racist, hated the black man for no other reason then because he was black. Today, that is no longer true, and the election of Barack Obama is a testament to that. Following my time in Vietnam, I did my best to raise my children to judge a person by their actions, and not the color of their skin. I spent 25 years in the Unites States Marine Corps. I served in two wars, Vietnam and Desert Storm. I have been and will always be a patriot. I support the entire constitution, not just the parts I like. Finally, I am a Christian. Raised in the Catholic Church, I fell away from that denomination but came back to Christianity following the death of my second wife, who died in my arms. I have tried to follow Jesus. It is not easy but I believe in the Bible. I believe it is the word of God and I follow the whole Bible, not just the parts I like, but the whole book. |
