Introduction | I am originally from a VERY small town in PA. In high school, was involved in cheerleading, musicals, and student government. In college, got into research (alcohol and skin cancer, specifically) and competitive ballroom dancing and coaching. Chose to re-locate to Rockville, MD (scariest decision of my life, by far) to pursue my passion: public health. Currently a PhD student at the University of Maryland pursuing a degree in behavioral and community health. I also work part time at the clinical center of the NIH working on several alcohol, CAM, and shared decision-making protocols, mostly with underserved populations. I am a fellow at the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation, which means I spend my weekend nights interviewing and breathalyzing drunk college kids to better understand drinkin behaviors. My family is without a doubt the most important thing in the world to me. I am both religious and spiritual. Recently I decided to compete for a local Miss America title and won - so will compete for Miss Maryland in June. |
