| Introduction | I manage the Pitt SBDC’s Small Business Innovation Research Grant (SBIR) assistance program where I assist early stage technology companies access federal SBIR grants to fund high risk, cutting edge R&D towards developing innovative products. Last year, I helped local companies raise nearly $4 million in SBIR funding. I regularly serve as a Commercial Reviewer for the NSF SBIR Program, and I sit on the funding committee of the Innovation Partnership, the PA SBIR assistance program. In 2008, as part of the state technology program, I was awarded the Pennsylvania SBDC State Star Award at the 2008 National ASBDC conference, which recognizes excellence in consulting.
