| Introduction | I was a 20year auto tech and Heavy equipment Mechanic. I now work in engineering for the Alaska Marine Highway System. 2009 was a rough year spent mostly unemployed and barely scraping by. My Family and I decided to leave the fast-lane and hit a Sidetrack. I let my Ex-wife take over payments on a trailer we were buying, had a big garage sale and moved across the bay to Seldovia. Living in a cabin, off-grid, in a town of 280, with access only by boat or plane, is a huge adjustment. But I wouldn't go back to the rat race. |
