Remember Haiti: Sonje Ayiti
My blogs
| Introduction | I am a Haitian American. Other than the devastating damage from the earthquake on January 12, 2010 in Port au Prince, Haiti, there has been a recent outbreak of Cholera and now pneumonia. Aid workers in the impoverished nation say the risk is magnified by the extreme poverty faced by people displaced by the Jan. 12 earthquake, which killed as many as 300,000 people and destroyed much of the capital city. Haitians living in the camps risk disease by failing to wash their hands, or scooping up standing water and then proceeding to wash fruits and vegetables. With the funds raised from this Benefit Concert, we plan to provide shelter, school supplies and athletic gear to Haitian's, along with clean drinking water in the form of filtration systems! We will do whatever it takes to provide relief! |
