| Introduction | My main passion in life is computers and technology. I'm an open source developer. In my day job I hack on the Linux kernel, outside of that I scratch whatever itch I have at the time. I'm also a gamer and have got involved in fixing stereoscopic 3D rendering glitches and reverse engineering abandoned games to fix bugs.
I listen to a lot of music. You have time to do that when you spend as much time using computers like me. I'm a huge fan of the Power and Symphonic Metal genres with my two favourite bands being Sonata Arctica and Nightwish. I definitely favour metal bands that use clean vocals over those that insist on yelling their lyrics, with few exceptions. I also enjoy a range of other genres including Celtic, New Age and Ambient - the third highest ranking band on my last.fm profile is Loreena McKennitt. |
