| Introduction | After 7 years with Martin Marietta, I moved to California and worked as a Millwright for 7 years, followed by 7 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. These jobs included work on defense projects, Nuclear Power Plant Turbines, rocket launch complexes at Vandenberg Air Force Base, and California Landslides. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, I obtained my CDL, driving heavy construction equipment including: fuel trucks, water trucks, dump trucks, rock trucks, semi-tractor trailers, cranes, loaders, scrapers, etc. I now live in East Tennessee, married to Ollie’s Gal. She is a techno-geek, and wrote a program, that allowed me to track miles, pay, expenses, hours, etc, and general notes about each load. It is that program that all detail in this blog is derived from. She is also the one whose fingers are at the keyboard. This is a collaborative effort to give actual facts, without emotion. So, we have worked together to turn my general notes into something cohesive, and hopefully without the frustrations that I sometimes recorded in my actual notes. |
