Introduction | I never have any idea what to say about myself. I was going to be a chemist, and when that didn't work out, I ended up in psychology and added on philosophy later out of a great love of the subject. Psychology is the only subject that has managed to keep me, so it wins the great career battle I've gone through since my parents told me I couldn't just be a writer (around age ten). I wouldn't want to now. I value writing too much to make it about money. |

When you open your eyes underwater, do you ever worry that you'll drown?
No, but I often feel like I'm in a whole other universe. And I mostly do it to see the bottom of the pool or the lights on the side of it. (I really love the water).
