Introduction | I am a first year teacher in the Grand Rapids Public School District. I teach adults ages 18-26 with autism in a community based classroom. I graduated from Grand Valley State University in April 2011 with a major in psychology/special education, endorsements in emotional and cognitive impairments, and a minor in elementary education. Prior to landing my first job within the school I now teach, I was a student teacher within this program as well as a long-term substitute teacher for summer school in the classroom that I am now the official teacher. Now that I am teaching full-time, I have embraced the phrase, "expect the unexpected" as I have witnessed first had that each day truly is a new adventure.
