| Introduction | So...I'm an ultra marathon runner. I'm also the mom of two, including a son on the autism spectrum. I'm not really sure at what moment I decided to run these crazy distances - it just sort of...happened. This blog is my story - how I train, how I manage my schedule, how I deal with injuries, as well as how I parent a son on the spectrum. Over the last decade, I have certainly had my share of blessings. But this time has also been fraught with struggle, very difficult life decisions, sacrifices and changes. But throughout, my one constant, beyond my family, has been running - and that is why I have clung to it so fiercely. Running has been my landmark in an ever-changing and unpredictable time. My hope is that maybe you take comfort in my stories - maybe you feel less alone, or perhaps you learn something that can help you in your own training. Happy Trails ~ Jennifer |
