| Introduction | Hi, my name is Gene F, ’09 President of the IWRA. I have held the office of President since 2008. I am one of the original 13 core members of the association and on October 10, 2006 I posted an open letter to both water rocket forums on Yahoo.com and MSN.com proposing the creation of an international governing body to promote the safe sport of water rocketry.
Also in 2006, I helped form the Starduster Rocketeers which is a small team of water rocket enthusiasts working on high pressure reinforced FTC (Florescent Tube Covers) rocket designs with an eye towards achieving the international water rocket altitude record. The team is involved in the international effort to create an governing body (IWRA) to promote the safe competitive sport of water rockets. The association will provide guidelines and peer-review for water rocket achievement recognition which was one of the main reasons the team originally got involved with the association. |
