Introduction	Welcome to Magic and the Muse! I’m Annie Crawford and I love words. I’ve been an avid reader ever since I learned what those funny squiggles on the page were all about. I’m also a writer, with two published novels, The Ring of Leilani and The Curse of the Jade Amulet. What age levels are my books for? That’s hard to say. Personally, I don’t think the dividing line’s always that clear. Great kids’ books aren’t just for kids, they’re for everyone who loves discovering new worlds. As for adult books being for kids—well, my parents didn’t police the bookshelves and I read Tropic of Capricorn at eleven. But that’s another story, and I don’t necessarily recommend Henry Miller for tweens! I’ll be sharing some of my favorite books here, and also blogging about reading and writing in general, my own writing process, my travels, and things I find fascinating or inspiring. I hope you enjoy them too! I spent 20 years in Mexico, teaching English, doing translations, and mothering my two unique and brilliant kids. Currently I live with my wonderful new husband in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where I read, write, and work part-time as a court certified Spanish interpreter/translator.
