About me

Introduction	My name is Tammy Sawyers. I am from Missouri. I have 13 years experience in the education field as a classroom/one-on-one aide. I just recently received my elementary teaching certificate and am in the process of looking for a teaching position. I have always known that I wanted to go on for my Master’s. I want that extra little bit of knowledge beyond my Bachelors. I have no desire to go any higher than a Master’s degree. I am going through the Reading Literacy Master’s program. I feel that this will open up other doors that my bachelors would not have. As reading becomes more of an issue in the public schools I feel that my Master's will help me assist students who struggle with reading. Since elementary is my major I also feel that my Master's progarm will benefit me in my own classroom as I teach reading and use reading to teach various other subjects. elementary.
