About me

Introduction I was born in the UK in the mid-80s, but lived in south-east Cyprus for 6 years with my parents and 3 siblings. We spent a huge amount of time outdoors during our formative years and this impacted us greatly. We moved back to England in the early 90s, which was a bit of a climate and culture shock (even for mum and dad). After travelling during my late teens / early twenties, I developed a renewed interest in the natural world and signed up for a undergraduate Zoology degree at Royal Holloway University. I completed a Masters of Biological Sciences Research in 2009 and became a landscape gardener amongst other things to make ends meet. A truly formative time for me was volunteering with the Sussex Wildlife Trust, meeting other like-minded people and learning from experienced local naturalists. I'm interested in all aspects of natural history and have no favourite field. I have worked at Gatwick Airport since 2012 and I am learning constantly within this dynamic and changing landscape.
