| Introduction | I've been happily married for over 50 years; believe it or not, we are both Scorpios and Smithtown Branch High School graduates (1954). Along with our beagle-springer mix, we are retired and now living in a retirement community in the Sunny Southeastern region of the United States. I earned a BS in mathematics from Wagner College and an MS in mathematics from Northeastern University; I retired after a thirty-plus year career in computers and telecommunications. I'm not all smiles and giggles; I'm generally serious and inwardly happy, content and optimistic. I believe that what we can do tomorrow is shaped by what we do today. To quote MLK, "It's always the right time to do the right thing." The best things in life? I believe that that the best thing in life is wishing for something and not getting it. Seems to me that getting what we want is the biggest disappointment in life. It's the surprises, the unexpected, the serendipitous that give me both joy and challenge. |
