Introduction Denise Gammonley, Ph.D., L.C.S.W., Associate Professor at the School of Social Work, University of Central Florida is a John A. Hartford Foundation/Gerontological Society of America Hartford Geriatric Social Work Faculty Scholar. is a population-based study of U.S. nursing homes examining mental health and psychosocial care quality for nursing home residents disabled by severe and persistent mental illness. Dr. Gammonley’s evaluation research expertise includes (1) the design, implementation, and analysis of community mental health intervention trials, (2) the creation of collaborative and interdisciplinary research endeavors linking academic institutions with community health and social service providers in urban and rural environments, and (3)global social work practice.
