Introduction I'm the superintendent minister of a Methodist circuit in wonderful North Yorkshire, England. I may post some pics to show you just how wonderful. Ordained 1979 in Wesley's Chapel. Churchpersonship: low. I struggle with set liturgies, candles, don't do the dressing-up thing. Bread and wine is bread and wine no matter who says what magic words. The sacramental meaning is in the act of sharing, which I think best belongs in the context of a REAL meal. Theology: let's just say, I'm not a fundamentalist. Suppose I used to be one of sorts, but that was long ago and far away. I've encountered fundamentalism too many times in my ministry to feel any lingering respect for it; which is not to deny that fundamentalISTS can be very nice and deeply committed people. They're just wrong, that's all. How to "prove" there's a God: 1] Drive from Dervaig to Fionnphort on the Isle of Mull 2] Listen to the last movement of Mozart's 41st symphony 3] Be there when your first child is born ... then just try telling me there isn't. Go on, try. I use "prove" in the holistic, Wesleyan sense of course. I'm a logical person but there's more to life than logic.
