| Introduction | is a 31-year-old journalism student at the ambitiously-named California University of Pennsylvania. He, for only the second time this decade, attempts to earn a college degree. His first attempt ended when he woke up on a friends cold, sticky, linoleum kitchen floor, surrounded by crushed cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon and asked the ominous question, "Is college right for me?" Since then, he has traveled the country, existing below the poverty level, picking up work as a line chef. He has lived in Pennsylvania, Atlanta, Arizona, Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. Throughout this journey, he has written extensively, compiling journal entries, poetry, short stories, and once, to his astonishment, was paid 35 dollars for a feature article.
