| Introduction | Setra worked with Tony Wilson (tech for The Rolling Stones) to build her home recording studio. She then recorded "Songs About It," with a little help from: Joe Scott (Lou Rawls, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson) piano - "Hearts & Flowers" and Kamu (Chaka Khan, Luther Vandross) guitar - "This Time." "In My Room" is one of several songs Setra co-produced with Justin Strauss (Tina Turner, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and recorded for Columbia Records, before their mutual parting of ways. Setra also performed vocals for Hoppy Komiyama on his Toshiba-EMI album and on the Refugee Camp's production for Sony/Japan artist, Pushim's, hit, "It's Too Late." In "Love Letter to New York," Setra, music mogul, Clive Davis, Chocolate Genius and others talk about their passion for music. Setra can be seen on episode 7 of LA Ink getting her sun tattoo. Award winning producer, Michael King, utilized Setra's talents for the groundbreaking documentary Rapping With Shakespeare which follows the lives of five high school students in LA's turbulent Crenshaw district. One listen to Setra and it's clear why she's been sought after by Sony for both her songwriting skills as well as her artistry. |
