Introduction I was raised in an evangelical Christian home and loved Jesus from an early age. As the oldest of five kids, I developed a love for teaching very early-- or maybe it was just in my genes. :) At a summer Bible camp I felt a call to missions, when I was 9, and always felt that "mark" on me as I grew older. I met my best friend and the love of my life, Neil, at Wheaton College-- in the library, appropriately enough! We married in 1997, after I completed my M.A. in Teaching at George Fox U. After four years of public high school teaching (for me) and graduate school in Ethnomusicology (for Neil), we joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 2000 and attended classes at the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics in preparation for assignment to Papua New Guinea (where we allocated in 2002). I have three sons: James (13), Cameron (10), and Will (7), who love growing up in Papua New Guinea! I thoroughly enjoy teaching 11th and 12th grade English, especially AP English Language and Literature, and chairing the English Department at Ukarumpa International School.
Interests Advanced Placement English, Literature, Papua New Guinea, Parenting TCKs, Ethnomusicology, Cello, Linguistics, Missions, Teaching, Hymns
Favorite Music I'm a cellist, and I enjoy many types of music from around the world. The worship music that moves me most will always be the hymns on which I was raised; I love teaching them to my own sons.
Favorite Books The Bible, Jane Eyre, Middlemarch, Anna Karenina, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, King Lear, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Soul of the American University, Sacred Marriage, Letters By a Modern Mystic, anything by Thomas Hardy, Strong-Willed Child or Dreamer?
