| Introduction | My name is Kate, and I am a board certified music therapist. I formed Music Matters, Inc. in January 2009 in order to provide contracted music therapy services to Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati agencies serving individuals with special needs, as well as private in-home families. In June of 2010, I completed training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) techniques at Colorado State University. The purpose of this blog is to spread awareness and understanding of music therapy by providing specific examples illustrating how music can be used as a teaching tool across a wide variety of skill areas. Most songs and activities posted are used during my therapy sessions. Community news, happenings, and resources are also shared. |
