Introduction	I am an anthropology major hoping to study Maritime Archaeology on the continental slope/trench, and abyssal plains in the Mediterranean ocean, and off the coast of Ireland. I will be searching for ancient civilizations that, quite literally vanished beneath the sea. Growing up on a remote farm not far from the Oregon coast, I would often find artifacts that Native Americans once used, like arrowheads and stone tools. This, along with watching Jacque Cousto, left an impression on me-even a dream- that someday I would make a great discovery under the ocean.
