Introduction	Some people have questioned why I choose the name "Sitting and Serving" for my blog. When I was considering a name, I began thinking about Biblical stories that I connect with on a daily basis. Probably the story I most relate to is that of Mary and Martha. There are many times I find myself being a Martha, running around trying to do everything that needs to be done, taking on every task that no one else is doing, and just generally wearing myself out serving. But Mary is the one who I want to be in the story. She is the one who is found sitting at Jesus' feet, soaking in the "living water" and the "bread of life" that just come from being near Him. Sometimes, though not often enough, I even take a moment to sit there like Mary. So here I am, a Divinity school student, a mother, a pastor's wife, and, in many ways a minister, trying to find ways to both sit at Jesus' feet and serve His people each and every day. Sitting and Serving, that is what we are called to as Christians. I hope that everyone of us finds ways to do both.
