Introduction Author/Speaker Jewel Sample is the award-winning children's writer of “Flying Hugs and Kisses.” "Flying Hugs and Kisses" is about five children who creatively take on roles of support toward each other while showing their individual feelings about the death of their baby brother. The National Parenting Center awarded "Flying Hugs and Kisses" their 2007 Seal of Approval. The National Sudden Infant Death Resource Center has selected Sample’s books as a bereavement resource for families with children. Sample has professional organization memberships with the Oklahoma Writers’ Federation, Inc. (OWFI) and Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
Interests In my spare time I enjoy going antiquing for old dolls and toys. Most of all I enjoy the play dates with my grandchildren, who encourage me to tell them a new story before their play date ends.
Favorite Books "The Soul Care Bible: Experiencing and Sharing Hope God's Way" By Thomas Nelson Publishers

Why Did you write Flying Hugs and Kisses? To bring honor to my baby grandson's life and to help his hurting brother and sisters to make sense out of life and death. My hope is the book will also bring honor to all Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) babies and their families.
