Introduction	I grew up in rural Kansas, & went to college at Kansas State Univ (Go Cats!). My degree is in Journalism & Mass Communication with a double major in Advertising & PR. I originally came to Austin to go to grad school at UT (Hook Em Horns!). I hated grad school but loved Austin. I left for a few years to teach at a missionary school in Bogota Colombia. I learned I'm not a classroom teacher. But I couldn't stay away from Austin for long (We're not in KS anymore Toto!). I work for the TX Dept of State Health Services. Prior to this I worked for the Higher Education Coordinating Board. I place a high value on higher education, & believe that anyone who wants it should be able to get it. I also place a high value on access to health care & believe everyone should be able to get that too. I attend church at Northwest Fellowship. Most of the things you'll hear from me come from a Judeo-Christian worldview because I know that God works in me and thru me in very real ways even if I'm not as faithful as I should be.

Favorite Movies	Auntie Mame, Shadowlands, Brigadoon, Dead Poets Society, Harry Potter (thank you Jonathan!), anything starring Haley Mills, Hunger Games, Marvel superhero movies, and really a lot of others.
Favorite Music	Je Renee, Jeromy Acton, Virgil Seals, Phil Keaggy, Rich Mullins, Randy Travis
Favorite Books	The Silver Chalice, the Left Behind Series, Harry Potter (again thank you Jonathan!), My Antonia, the Chronicles of Narnia (all 7 books), Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (and the other 4 books in the trilogy)
