Introduction Ron Bowell is the founding pastor of CrossRoads Church in Salina, Kansas. He grew up on a farm near Abilene, Kansas. He graduated from Abilene High School and went on to earn a degree in psychology from Emporia State University. Ron played with rock bands all around the Midwest in the 1960’s and 1970’s. In 2008 one of those bands, Friar Tuck and the Monks, was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame. You can read about the band and find pictures and music at During his years in the bands Ron became an alcoholic. At Christmas time of 1980 Ron gave his life to Jesus and has been a pastor since 1984. In 1998 he and Kerry moved to Salina, Kansas to start the CrossRoads Church. Ron has authored three books. He has also been a police chaplain and a contributing editor to the Salina Journal. Ron and his wife Kerry have been married for 48 years and have five grown children. Ron also hosts the CrossRoads Radio Show every Sunday morning in Salina on 95.5 and 104.9. The show draws spiritual truth and application from the sounds of classic rock music. Check it out.
