Introduction "I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: "(Gal. 2:20). Paul in his literary genius penned the paradox, poetically, but also reveals gospel truth about who we are in Christ. When I wrote my memoir in 2007, I gave my publisher this pitch: "A journey from present to past reveals the Delta alive, dead, and living again, the faithful family who experienced it, and the window through which one woman saw it." My life story. The way I saw it; the way I remembered it. To read the book is to know me. In a way, that's how Paul expressed what was revealed to him. He told what God required. The rest is left to eternity. My life is filled with blessings: the husband of my youth; our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren are my joy and crown. Of lesser importance, I hold a Ph.D. in Religion. After retirement I taught literature and master's thesis prep. at Tabernacle Baptist College in Greenville, SC. I currently facilitate a course in American Literature at Bethany Divinity College, and I give support to its distance learning students. I write every day, straight from the heart.
