Introduction Scott Brunner is CEO of the 40,000-member Virginia Association of REALTORS. He came to Virginia in August 2005 after 11 years as CEO of the Mississippi Association of REALTORS. He’s a native of Bessemer, Alabama, holds degrees from the University of Montevallo and Auburn University, and earned the prestigious Certified Association Executive designation in 1997. In Mississippi, Scott conceived the nationally recognized LeadershipMAR program, that association’s REALTOR leadership development initiative that has served as a model for association leadership development nationwide. Scott is a former occasional commentator on National Public Radio's All Thing Considered program. He is the author of two books of essays about the South, both published by Random House. Scott and his wife Karen have an 11-year-old daughter, Claire, and twin boys, Pate and Jackson, who are nine years old.
