Introduction Hi! I'm Dustin and I live in the midwest where I am a software engineer. I began my journey in software writing a C# backend for Iowa State University's Agronomy distance education program. From there, I moved to Workiva where I mostly worked on map-reduce operations in Google's App Engine and also did some front-end work in Flex. More recently, I've worked on graph traversal systems and indexing technologies in Google's Go, deployed to Amazon Web Services. Along the way I've had the chance to work on just about every hosted queue/sql/nosql system you can find. I've managed along the way to land two patents with two more filed (http://patents.justia.com/inventor/dustin-hiatt). I've also had the opportunity to create and contribute to one of the most popular open-source data structures library for Go (https://github.com/Workiva/go-datastructures). I'm interested in all things high-performance and distributed. I've also taken a keen interest lately in machine learning and Google's newer cloud AI APIs.
