Which do you prefer and why: whittling with soap or whistling with wood?

Well, being a Monty Python fan, whittling with soap reminds me of the scene in the Holy Grail and they are told by the Knights who say "Nih!" order them to cut down the tallest tree in the forest (I think) with a herring. Then again, whistling with wood could be classified as flute-playing or some such action. Wait, I don't play the flute. Okay, just regular whistling for me, and pass the Dove!
